A writer's Dream...a long blog

I started this blog way back in 2010-2011 with a dream of writing some meaningful things ..yet my virtual life on facebook was filled with my thoughts in the form of status updates.I was way too much busy liking commenting updating and again friending and unfriending. My photos thoughts and entire chain of my life revolved around facebook. Then in the winter of 2013  I decided enough was enough and started unfriending everyone and finally called it a day on facebook.

I thought my blog would get my attention..yet it was not to be. As the rush of Modi election campaign got momentum I rejoined twitter after a year of deleting it.I got myself in to random trending topics and played my role in mocking the fools and defending the hope of my nation my current prime minister.

Then after a few months of election I tweeted on a random trending topic of harper collins..asking people to suggest a book idea called as harper pitch. In the rush of adrenaline I tweeted a series of ideas that got re-tweets from harper collins. It was fun and i never took it seriously. But then came the shocker as it was not a simple book idea.It was a contest to aspiring writers and I had got an offer to submit my manuscript if ever there was one...for my supposedly interesting book idea on the life of bangladeshi refugees in India. That was not all. I had also won a book as a gift. I had to send my address via direct Twitter message to harper collins  to get the book. Yes I had a ready career of a writer in front of me from one of the leading publishers.

But somewhere deep when i reflected on my book idea I decided I was not going to write that as it was just an idea that came as a result of my adrenaline rush and  not a genuine desire. In one of those rare zen moments I decided if i ever write a book I will not write on a topic that is controversial, anti national and would make people burn its copies and create enmity among groups and communities.

It was also the time I was busy preparing for bank exams and had to make a conscious choice of where i wanted to end up. I chose the latter and today I am a probationary clerk in a reputed public sector bank waiting for my next big career move in the world of banking.

Writing has taken a backseat because of my career choice..But not my imagination. The people I meet daily..be it my colleagues or customers of the branch I am creating a reservoir of characters in my memory to set them free one day so that they speak out their lines through my pen and become the mediums through which I am going to live even after death..

Someone once said that words never die....may be they are immortal..they make people immortal..from shakespeare to tagore...Vivekananda to Netaji the words of people live forever...
I want my words to remain among the words penned and spoken by the pantheon of legends.

Back to where I started, I ll give enough attention to this blog as this is a sort of writer's dairy...

This is my dream...A writer's dream
