The death of Sword that Pen once was !

This blog post is in view of recent uproar among public on Indian media's biassed reporting of  issues of sensitivity with political bias.I am not going to be specific about any news paper or electronic media as every media outlet today is hired by either right wing, left wing or congress ideology.

I dare to openly say that no mainstream media reports without a hidden agenda which is nothing but their financial gain and every channel and newspaper gets to show that it is the highest viewed/read media because of faulty methods of statistics that are in use today.

What prompted me to write this is the style of reporting that the responsible journalists did in the recently concluded loksabha elections and the way they haven't dared to put truth on the plates of viewer/reader.

Let me just give an example of a series of reports in a national daily that is targetting ruling alliance continuously in what it thinks as saffronising indian education and justifies communising or marxifying or congressifying Indian Education! Why cant they agree that current as well as past system of education is wrong and take no sides so that readers get a neutral view? It's just a co incidence that the man who is part of  editorial board of that newspaper happens to be the classmate of a top communist leader...and coincidences often happen coincidentally! If this is the fate of national dailies I don't have to comment on the substandard reporting of regional dailies.

If I were to comment on the ethics of prime time newsreaders of major English news channels I will have to start a new blog! Such is the degree their moral and authenticity of their reports. They are the unquestionable masters of shouting, forcing their points on others, pleading innocence on social media and crying in front of camera to fake innocence.By now You could have guessed the names of journos that I haven't named just to be sane in writing unlike them.

No I am not a journalist and don't intend to be part of that vicious circle in today's world.

I am not asking them to be authentic but they need not be fake. At least the viewers and readers deserve better.

Nation wants to know why media is sold out ?

Can the holy trinity of prime time news answer that? or the top newspapers of the nation run a series of editorials on this?

My mind says that their pens have lost the sharpness of sword and it is definitely the death of Sword that Pen once was!

with love from a bookworm

I wanted to write on the hobby of reading from a long time and did not find a place to write it except for brief book reviews on flipkart. I am a bookworm and ever since I put my hands on one night at the call center on a fateful evening of 2010 I fell in love with the world of English novels. It was my first English novel reading and Chetan Bhagat cast his spell on me.It followed all of bhagat's novels followed by international authors like Dan Browne and Sam Bourne  to our desi delights Durjoy Datta,Ravinder Singh and Preeti Shenoy.I started being regular to Landmark and Crossword as if they are temples and books are my dieties.

From best sellers of Frederick Forsyth, Dan Brown,Chetan Bhagat,Amish Thripathi,Ashwin Sanghi,Durjoy Datta, Ravinder Singh and Preeti Shenoy to lesser known books of Girish Kohli,Siddhartha Gigoo and many more that I do not remember at the moment I became an ardent lover of books no matter to which genre did they belong.

From the world of iit's, iim's,code breakers, thrillers, lover boys, women of great determination, men with extraordinary power of mind, people in love, stereotypes, cold blooded murderers, history ,science, philosophy, culture and everything associated with human emotions and experiences became part of my life.

In four years since that day I have grown tremendously as a reader. Though the time has changed in my life I still find time to read novels either on a train journey or a late sleepless night. The above mentioned authors  and others that I don't remember have become part of my life to the extent of influencing my world view for good.

It's a fascinating world and as someone says it's an escape in to another world though most novels are very near to reality. Now I have reached a stage where I can not imagine the rest of my life's every week without a novel....

happy reading.

the journey of a nomad...

Today's post is the translation of my own unpublished Kannada short story  Alemariya Yathre meaning the journey of a nomad...I have not stuck to word by word translation and rather written it modifying to match my current mood.

Why did I come to the beach? I do not remember. Not to see the sun rise at least. The Sun has already risen and is looking at his own wavering reflection in the blue waters.I am walking aimlessly as if guided by the numerous footmarks on the sand.

As I look at my surroundings, I find masks of different age. These visible masks can be called as human beings! Then Do not ask what I am? I too may look like a human in your eyes as I am also wearing a mask that looks human.I started wearing this mask ever since I lost myself to the needs of this materialistic world.

The waves of ocean and the waves of human emotions are very much similar.

The beach is full of people betrayed by the uncertainties of life wearing different types of masks.

I do not know the seller of masks. But I am one among his customers. For Mentally disturbed people he sells the mask of peace of mind and to those who are physically ill he sells the mask of optimism.

You may wonder was this all I got in the beach? The answer is no.I found someone else as well..

Those faces that are not hidden behind the mask. Those eyes full of dreams and optimism with an assurance that everything will be fine. Those innocent faces playing in the sand as if there is no tomorrow...those faces that instantly smile at you even if you are a stranger and those eyes that are full of love and that heart never touched by the evil called hatred.

Then I remembered my purpose in life and the reason of my walk to the beach..

the begining

Can I write? this question has haunted me ever since I have come across people who write exactly what I have in my mind.So the purpose of this blog is to express my free flowing thoughts and create a place where at least one person reads them. Who that will be immaterial as the joy of writing for self is more than writing for someone else. The day an artist starts performing for the crowd and not himself he starts deceiving his inner self...same is the case with writing. The day I start writing a post for the sake of someone that will be the end of my creative thinking.

Why name it Solitude? As I have written already I write for my satisfaction..To give the form of words to my unexpressed thoughts. So this blog is a reflection of my thoughts. It is a journey of solitude...
