Hindu....not a religion

Religion, a western concept is alien to Hindu nation. Don't get me wrong, we argue that ours is the oldest and mother of all religions in the world..yet we forget that while being the pioneers of spiritual wisdom and torchbearers to the secrets of soul and God (atma and paramatma) our faith had never taken the form of what the west calls religion.

We never called ourselves under one name as it was the west that branded the faith of subcontinent as Hindu. The name was a diluted version of our reverred river Sindhu and our western border to ''Mlechchas".

We were never a faith preaching the name of one God to be all assuming supreme lord...as we saw God's form in six principal forms of Shiva, Shakti, Vishnu, Ganesha, Karthikeya and Surya. We saw every element to be manifestation of God and gave three crore names to those elements and status of God.

Religion, a middle east  and Western concept of a faith is a narrow concept of all hating one God who gives salvation to only his followers and calls your God a false God and only my lord to be the supreme.

We called our faith as Sanatana...meaning eternal...and we are the only faith having a Dharma...a way of life...We are eternal because we accept change just as the mighty river Ganga accepts fresh water from its tributeries. We change according to times yet hold on to our inner self Atma..to its core value of righteousness no matter which age we live in.

All that debate of calling our Dharma as a religion must end henceforth as it is an insult to the ideals of our timeless scientists called Rishis who gave the world Apaurusheya...the sacred knowledge created by lord and not man...in the form of Vedas and Smritis..through a tradition of Guru Shishya and method of Shruti.Rishis were the first Shrutas the ones who heard from lords voice and they continued the tradition.

We are the only faith in the world that saw divinity in man and called for the soul to discover its true potential..while the religions of the world were busy calling man a sinner..God forbid.

The rennaissance of Sanatan Dharma is possible only when we destroy the myth of a Hindu religion and give our society the utmost freedom to explore our spiritual literature free from gender and caste bias...much like our vedic ancestors.

Only then shall we have more Rishis and Brahmavadins emerge in modern age to guide a world thirsty for eternal knowledge..to free the soul from the bonds of religion and make it follow the way of life...towards Moksha..

Atmano mokshartham jagat hitayacha.
